Fantastic food! Friendly owners, comfortable surroundings and a must when in Salida for Thai food

Thai Mini Café LLC in Poncha Springs came as a complete surprise to us. The food gets a 5 star hands down. Restrooms and dining space are clean and spacious enough for a remote town. The owners came across as pleasant and very hard working people. Driving from Santa Fe to Denver we were desperately looking for anything other than fast food and got lucky to experience tasty, authentic Thai food when we least expected it.

So happy we tried this place. Good thai in the middle of nowhere, yes please. The place was clean and there were additional items on the whiteboard in addition to the menu. They were selling some stuff in addition to the restaurant. Not 100% sure, but you might be able to get some Asian cooking ingredients here too.

We ordered takeout from here tonight because we were starving and it was the most convenient place. I really don’t understand how it is rated so highly. I walked in and the place is filthy. I really considered leaving and not picking up our order. I just stuck with it to give it a chance. I had pad Thai, which I think is a good test meal. It was SO bland. I added a bunch of soy sauce and chili paste for flavor but it was still pretty awful. I dumped 85% of it in the trash. The egg roll was good, but it is kind of hard to go wrong with that. Definitely do not recommend

Quite possibly the best thai restaurant i have been to in all of colorado! The food is outstanding.

Great food, lovely owner who cares about her food and is very sweet. This isnt the city and people leaving bad reviews should probably stay home. Prices in the mountains are higher than front range. The pad thai is authentic and amazing. We try to stop here at least a few times every summer during our travels.

Our go to spot whenever we are in Salida! The food is great and the service is wonderful. It may not look like much from the outside, but it is definitely worth stopping in for a great, relaxed lunch or dinner. Had the Tom Ka Gai (chicken and coconut soup with vegetables) and it was perfect!

Love this place. Wonderfully delicious and authentic food. Generous helpings. Friendly people and reasonably priced. This is a must stop when driving from Denver to Crested Butte :)

Lovely owner who cooks delicious Thai food that reminds me of the local street food in Thailand. After days of eating burgers on the road, this meal was exactly what we needed to refuel and get a healthy meal.

The Thai iced tea tasted like the sugar was about to precipitate out of the water (aka it was disgustingly sweet). The pad Thai was super oily. The red curry was insanely spicy. And our bill came out to $35 without tip, fairly pricey. I wouldn't come back here.

This place is one of those hidden gems in the middle of nowhere. Staff is friendly. Options are eclectic with fried rice type dishes as well as quintessential Thai and American. Something for everybody here. I don’t eat spicy but my family said that the spicy seasoning they use was great. Pic features tofu pad Thai

Just remember that you are in a mountain town and things cost twice the amount to source up here. The prices were good for the food served. It’s like a hole in the wall bar, it has heart and background. The food serve probably isn’t made on the spot but it was made love and care. The people here are hardworking and doing their best to provide. Overall good!

Very authentic Thai restaurant. We were just passing by this town and enjoyed the food here. The service was great, and the staff were very friendly and treat you like a friend.

The $8 burger was okay. My friends had Asian lunch dishes $12.95. The owner served hot tea when we sat down. Meals came one at a time. She was not friendly and charged me $12.95 for the burger.

Had a belly ache so they included a side of rice. Very nice people.

Sorry to leave a bad review but it is what it is.Green curry had very little coconut milk or curry. I had nearly dry rice after mixing and little spice. Pad se eu was over powered with peanut sauce. Could barely taste base noodles. Not sure why locals like this place. As tourists it was a definite downer but otherwise enjoyed Salida. Do these owners a favor and be honest with them.

My wife and I came here (hungry) after hitting the slopes at Monarch. 🤙 We were greeted immediately by the kind waiters and cook. We were offered hot tea and water upon sitting at our booth and ordered the Red Curry and Yum Won See? with Tofu and asked for our dishes to be made without shrimp. The cook was more than happy to accommodate us and wow! Our food was amazing!!! So good! We ate every bite! On a sidenote, bathroom was well stocked and they had 2-ply toilet paper which is definitely appreciated. We will definitely come back again.

Ate here a few years ago while passing thru Poncha Springs on the way to Monarch for the night. We received food and service that were both excellent. At the time the location was just down the road but has since moved.Our food came out quickly, and the flavor was excellent. We ordered a few different items, Pad Thai, Pad See Ew,& Spring Rolls. Everything was great, and we have a lot of Thai restaurants back home in San Antonio.We were all pleasantly surprised, finding food this good in such a small town. But then to finish off this experience, the older woman serving us and conversing with us treats the 3 of us to ice cream.Excellent customer service, excellent food, fair prices. This is the true meaning of an Oasis, as its in a spot where you've been driving for a while and start looking for somewhere to stop and grab a bite to eat.When I pass thru here again, I will definitely stop again.

We stopped by Poncha Springs to charge up our Tesla before heading to Great Sand Dunes. There isn't much to see or eat in Poncha Springs. So we were surprised to find this Thai restaurant in this small town. We tried the Tofu Pad Thai for my vegan daughter - she loved it. And my son had the pork dumplings - they were great. We are Asians, and this is legit Asian food. Kudos! The bonus was the extra sanitary precautions. Pens/Credit Cards were all wiped down by the owner with a brand new Clorox wipe before they were handed to me. Amazing!

Food was truly authentic and delicious-especially the Pad Thai 😋 It brought back fond culinary memories of our visit to Bangkok!LC

Was skeptical to stop at a roadside restaurant, especially since it claimed to have authentic Thai food but depicted a big hamburger and ice cream on the outside. I ordered the veggie pad thai and it was not bad. The place has a weird vibe to it though and is largely disorienting. The portion was a little small for the price it came at, too. Left a little hungry. The views from the place are nice, the sunset was really lovely.

The worst Thai food me and my husband have tasted. Thai rice tastes like Chinese fried rice with very little chicken, small portion. Rice was not cooked all the way 😞 and meals are very expensive.

We love this little understated place in the middle of nowhere! Great food, prepared quickly and fresh, pleasant service by the woman who opened this business 36 years ago. If you are in Salida or coming to Monarch, this is a great little place for lunch or dinner. Small selection but the food is very good, love the pad Thai and egg rolls!

Delicious Thai food. On par with Thai food I've had in LA. The flavors of the dishes were very authentic with a homemade style. We loved the egg rolls and ended up ordering extra at the end of the meal. The Tom yum soup and pad kee mow were both very tasty with a good amount of heat.

this place was very good and the food was excellent. The interior design was in a Thai style. Lots of pictures on the wall. It's a fairly simple place but I was very impressed with the food and I would certainly come back.

I’m honestly surprised to see all the five stars. Or maybe just do not get the crab cheese wontons! There was hardly any filling in them. My main dish had chicken that was very rubbery and fatty. Who knows maybe I just didn’t order the right items but I will never eat there again.

Excellent terriyaki chicken with a nice light sauce and lots of veggies!T pad Thai was also very good. Quick service and nice owners.
